This is a membership site that I charge money for. You might be wondering why, or what that entails.

Welcome! If you're reading this, you're probably wondering what membership at Big Machine is all about. Let me tell you a story about how we do things here.

Why I Charge for Membership

I'll be honest with you: I'm a perfectionist. Most people would say annoyingly so. But here's the thing: I care deeply about your time, and I know how precious it is.

When I set out to create a video for Big Machine, I don't just hit record and hope for the best. I spend months crafting a single hour-long video. Yes, months. That might sound excessive, but here's what goes into it:

I NEVER USE AI IN PRODUCTION

You will never, ever watch a video from me that has any AI-produced content, which means video, audio, images or script. I write my own content from top to bottom, which is a guarantee you have from me.

I do not think AI is a bad thing and I am not a hater. In fact I will readily use it to help me think through a topic, or figure out how to structure a presentation or idea. I will ask it what things to dig in to, and where to look for more details.

Once I have a structure in mind or feel like I know enough, I take over and do my thing. Creating content is fun for me, with emphasis on the word creating. I see it as an art form, and I feel like it's going to be a very important differentiator in the future.

I see AI as a very valuable assistant, not a member of staff. The reason for this is simple: I charge money and that means I need to give you high quality. AI is mediocre, by definition, and you won't get that from me.

Ever.

The Process

Research and Planning: I dive deep into the topic, exploring every angle, testing every approach, and figuring out what actually matters. I'm not interested in surface-level tutorials you could find anywhere else. I want to understand the why behind the what.

Writing and Rewriting: Every script goes through multiple drafts. I cut out the fluff, the tangents, and anything that doesn't serve you directly. My goal is to pack every minute with information you can actually use, not filler content to hit a time quota.

Production: I record, re-record, and sometimes re-record again until it's right. If something isn't clear, if an example doesn't land perfectly, or if I stumble over an explanation, we do it again. Your time is too valuable to waste on "good enough."

Editing and Refinement: Hours of footage get distilled down to the essentials. Every cut, every transition, every graphic is there for a reason: to help you understand and apply what you're learning.

Testing and Validation: Before a video goes live, I make sure the code works, the examples are realistic, and the concepts translate to real-world scenarios. No theoretical fluff, just practical, battle-tested information.

What This Means for You

The result of this process is content that respects your intelligence and your time. When you watch one of my videos, you're not sitting through 20 minutes of setup to get to 5 minutes of actual value. Every minute is packed with ready-to-use information that you can apply immediately.

I charge for membership because this level of care and attention isn't sustainable otherwise. Free content often means cutting corners, rushing production, or padding runtime. Paid membership allows me to maintain these ridiculously high standards and create material that's genuinely worth your time.

What You Can Expect

Let's set realistic expectations right from the start.

Content Cadence

I aim to release a new video every other month or so. Sometimes it might be a bit faster, sometimes a bit slower, depending on the complexity of the topic. This isn't Netflix: you won't see a new video every week.

And that's intentional.

Quality Over Quantity

Membership here is not about a flood of content. It's about giving you access to a carefully curated library of high-quality educational material. Each piece is designed to be watched, rewatched, and referenced as you build real projects.

Think of it like this: Would you rather have 50 rushed, superficial videos, or 10 meticulously crafted ones that you'll actually use? We're firmly in the latter camp.

Access to the Library

When you become a member, you get immediate access to the entire existing library. Everything I've created is yours to explore at your own pace. Some members binge-watch everything in a week. Others prefer to work through one video at a time, applying what they learn before moving on. Both approaches are perfectly fine.

The library keeps growing, but slowly and deliberately. Each addition is something I'm genuinely proud of—something I'd want to watch myself if I were learning the topic.

A Different Kind of Learning

Big Machine membership is for people who:

  • Value depth over breadth
  • Appreciate careful, thoughtful instruction
  • Want to understand concepts deeply, not just copy-paste code
  • Are willing to invest time in learning things properly
  • Prefer one excellent resource over a dozen mediocre ones

If you're looking for quick tips, life hacks, or the latest hot framework tutorial, there are lots of great (and free!) resources out there for that. Big Machine is different. We go deep. We take our time. We make sure you really get it.

Is Membership Right for You?

  • Prefer depth and thoroughness over quick tutorials
  • Are comfortable with a slower release schedule in exchange for better content
  • Value having a curated library of excellent resources

  • Want daily or weekly updates
